Pl. de la Vieille Halle aux Blés 11
1000 Bruxelles
Belgium
and have always wanted to see Brussels from his perspective?
Driven by a spirit of passing on knowledge to new generations, the Brel Foundation collects, catalogues and digitizes archives related to Jacques Brel's work and life. Located just a stone's throw from the Grand Place, it now offers the public a permanent digital exhibition where visitors can discover the many facets of the man and the artist's talent through the Brel Singer and Brel Author spaces.
Visitors can also get to know the singer and actor Jacques Brel through films in his cinema, the Ciné Brel. Five screenings per day include the legendary "Adieux à L'Olympia" filmed in 1966.
Programming is available on the Fondation Brel website.
An individual stroll through the singer's hometown is also organized, with an audio guide, for curious walkers to immerse themselves in Brel's Brussels.
A nice touch: the Foundation regularly organizes meetings with France Brel, one of the famous singer's daughters.
Whether you're a passing tourist or a seasoned fan, everyone is welcome at the Brel Foundation.
